Automation Quick Start Guide

Introduction

The Automation page is a powerful tool to create and edit rules which can send messages when a set criteria is met. The Automation page also provides a log displaying the various messages that have been sent based on the created rules.

The Automation page also provides Scripted Automation which is an advanced tool which allows programmatic creation of automation rules. For more information on Scripted Automation, refer to our support documentation.

Settings

NOTE: The automation rule processor runs every 4 hrs UTC starting at 1:30am. For example, if a rule is created at say, 7 pm with an interval of every 6 hrs. This rule will be picked up by the processor asap, i.e. at 9:30 pm and will be executed. After the first run, the 6 hr interval will be considered. So this rule will not be picked up by the processor at 1:30 am again (since only 4 hrs passed). It will be picked up again at 5:30 am the next morning, since 8hrs(>6) has passed.

NOTE: When Run Indefinitely is checked, the automation rule will continue to be applied at the selected interval and will remain in effect regardless of how many times it has run.

Logs

The Automation Logs provide a reference for the status of the automations that have been created and sent. Logs can be filtered to locate a specific log, or logs may be navigated through.
