Keyword Analysis Detail

Introduction

The Keyword Analysis page provides the ability to view the keywords for your app(s), the data around any potential keywords you may wish to use, the keywords that your competitors are using, and the ability to view the keywords used by the top apps in a category. This tool can be very useful for locating and optimizing the keywords that will produce the best results for your app(s).

This page provides detail instructions on the use of the tools present on this page.


Input Settings

The header of each page within Search Ads Maven provides the ability to change user settings, language settings, app selection, data period selection as well as shortcuts for syncing data and creating a campaign.

User Settings
Once a user has signed into Search Ads Maven, they can navigate to the different organizations that they are associated with as well as change/update user settings. Once signed in, click on the down arrow caret > Settings. The following profile information may be updated:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone Number
  • Job Title

One the profile settings have been updated, click Update Profile to save the changes.
Setup Password

The Setup Password feature provides the opportunity to change the current user’s password.

  1. Click Setup Password.
  2. Enter a New Password.
  3. Confirm the Password.
  4. Click Submit.
Language Settings

The following languages are available for display within the UI:

  • English (EN)
  • German (DE)
  • Spanish (ES)
  • Korean (KO)
  • Chinese (ZH)
  • Japanese (JA)
  • French (FR)
Country

The following countries are available for selection within the UI:

Sync and Create a Campaign
By default when you log in to your Search Ads Maven account, your data will by synced. If you need to sync your data at any time, you can click on the Data Sync button. A spinning wheel and percentage complete will be displayed providing updates on the sync process. After the sync has been competed, a Last sync date and time will be displayed.

The + Create Campaign button provides easy access to create a campaign. For more information, refer to our Campaign Generator Quick Start Guide.

NOTE: The time shown for data sync is local time of the client (browser time). Reporting time is UTC in Search Ads Maven for all requests except for scheduled reports. For reporting, date range is received at backend as a UTC date and is converted to a timestamp subsequently. Search Ads Maven does not take user’s ASA timezone into account currently.


Keyword Analysis User Interface

  1. Log in to Search Ads Maven.
  2. Click Keyword Analysis.

Search by App

The Search by App section of this page provides the ability to locate and utilize keywords that can be associated with the selected app.

  1. Using the drop-down menu, select the desired App.
A list of Keywords is displayed and can be organized by Name, Organic Rank, Popularity or Total Apps.

  • Keywords — The keyword that may be associated with the app.
  • Organic Rank — The search results of a search engine that cannot be influenced by paid advertising.
  • Popularity — The keyword popularity score of the keyword. A higher search score means a higher search volume on the keyword.
  • Total Apps — The total number of apps using the keyword.
  1. Locate the desired keyword and click .
  2. A pop-up window will be provided for the associated keyword.
  3. Select the Match Type:
    • Exact
    • Broad
  4. Enter the bid amount.
  5. Click Run Ads.
  6. Select the desired App.
  7. Select the desired Campaign.
  8. Select the desired Ad Group.
  9. Click Apply.

Search by Keyword

The Search by Keyword section of this page provides the ability to search by a specific keyword which will load the associated apps that use that keyword.

  1. Enter the desired Keyword.
  2. Press Enter.
Data associated with the desired Keyword will be loaded showing:
  • Popularity — The keyword popularity score. A higher search score means a higher search volume.
  • Number of Apps — The total number of apps using the keyword.
  • Chance — A percentage score based on the estimated chance of your app being in the top ten for the keyword within your app’s category.
  • Apps Running Ads — The total number of apps paying for the keyword.

The list of apps can be organized by Name, Organic Rank or Category Name. Once an app has been located, you can click on that app and Search Ads Maven will navigate you back to the Search by App page with the selected app’s keywords listed. From the listed keywords, you can select any of the keywords to add to your app’s account.

Search By Keyword

Search by Competitors

The Search by Competitors section of this page provides the ability to display the top competitors for your selected app. The competitors can be organized by Name, Rating, Version, Price or Genres.

  • App — The competitor application name.
  • Rating — The rating of the app.
  • Version — The version of the app.
  • Price — The price of the app.
  • Genres — The genre of the app.
Clicking on the name of the competitor’s app will navigate you to the Search by Apps page, and display the list of keywords use by that app. Clicking on one of those keyword will allow you to add that keyword to app. For more information about adding keywords, refer to the Search by App section above.

Category Top Apps

The Category Top Apps section provides the ability to locate and arrange the top apps by the selected category.

Apps can be organized by Name, Rating, Price or Genres. Clicking on the desired app will navigate you to the Search by App page where the associated keywords will be displayed. For more information about adding keywords, refer to the Search by App section above.
